Pomegranate Cafe

As we were walking to Star of India for dinner the other night, we passed by the window for the Pomegranate Cafe and its pink painted walls and lucky bamboo accents peeking through the darkness intrigued me. Soft opening only two weeks ago, they haven’t done much in marketing yet, so let’s help them get the word out! Their vision was to create a space where delicious flavor and nutritious ingredients come together with extraordinary service in a unique, earth-conscious environment. They have definitely succeeded!

.
All of their offerings are made from scratch daily or right when you order. I tried the Abundance juice, which is a blend of locally grown organic greens and a splash of lemon. Besides being alkalinizing and oh-so-good for me, the drink was refreshing and tasty! For lunch I ordered the white bean vegetable soup with fresh baked corn bread and a Pomegranate salad. The salad featured Maya’s Farm greens, goat cheese, maple pecans, pink lady apples, and cranberries. Right now they are serving breakfast and lunch, with dinner to be available soon.

Everyone on staff has bright beaming smiles and are more than happy to explain the benefits of the Pomegranate Cafe philosophy and preparation methods. Their baked goods are prepared with spelt flour instead of wheat flour. Spelt contains more protein than wheat, and the protein in spelt is easier to digest. Instead of refined white sugars, they will substitute with agave nectar. Syrups for their coffee drinks are made from scratch. Even the serving counter and placemats are green and groovy, made of sunflowers and recycled juice boxes, respectively! I can certainly see the Trader Joe’s crowd eating up this new eatery!
